on October 12, 2025 Twenty-six women from Jerusalem participated in a tour of the city of Jaffa the group was welcomed at the Jaffa Port by the guide, Mr. Sami Abu Shehadeh, who accompanied us on a comprehensive historical and cultural tour.
The tour began at the map located between Alexandria and Beirut, where we received a geographical explanation of the region. We then discussed the symbolism of the Jaffa orange and its economic and cultural importance.
We visited several landmarks in Old Jaffa, including the Port Lighthouse, the House of Simon the Tanner, Al-Tabiya Mosque, and St. Peter’s Church. Afterwards, we took a pleasant break in front of Al-Saraya Theatre, enjoying a friendly gathering in the ancient alleys of Jaffa.
The tour continued through Clock Square, the Old Market, and Jamal Basha Street, where we explored the city’s rich and long-standing history.
The visit concluded at the “Jaffa Youth House,” where we learned about the challenges the center faces and the importance of its vital role in serving the Jaffa community.
At the end of the meeting, we enjoyed lunch prepared by one of Jaffa’s women, embodying the warmth and generosity of the city—reflected in every delightful bite shared with the group.
The day ended with free time between the seashore and the markets, concluding a day rich with knowledge, warmth, and beautiful memories
